A bit about me
I'm so pleased you've reached out for support and that you've found my website! My name's Pippa.
After graduating with a degree in English Literature, I worked in publishing (books, magazines, digital) and research, in Italy and London. I loved the creative aspects of the work and access to an incredible musical and cultural scene. but never felt fully part of that world. I was quite shy and sensitive but threw myself into a social scene which exhausted me.
I decided to move back to Devon, where I'd spent a lot of my childhood - this is where I started my therapy journey.
My first therapist was quite 'old school' - she was (to me) cold, distant, unsmiling and frequently silent. My feelings of being misunderstood and unloveable were compounded by a sense that she was judging me, seeing through me and leaving me feeling ashamed and that there must be something wrong with me.

I'm happy to say that I went on to see a couple of wonderful therapists who helped me to feel seen, supported and - at last - understood. They were able to help me explore and untangling my attachment issues and help me see my full potential.I knew then that I wanted to do this work, to be the therapist I had so desperately needed back then: warm, compassionate, gentle, experienced and able to bring humour and joy into our sessions. I will also gently challenge clients when you're stuck in your story, encouraging you to venture into the discomfort of feeling your feelings. I always ensure that you have all the grounding tools and resources to keep you feeling safe and supported.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be doing what I do, working with extraordinary individuals, all of whom show immense courage to allow me into their world. It's a huge privilege to be a part of someone's therapeutic journey, supporting them through the challenges they're facing. I'm often moved by being allowed to witness their vulnerability and their willingness to trust in the process.
I specialise in working with my clients to build up their self esteem, help reduce and manage their anxiety and work towards a secure attachment style.I have a thirst for knowledge which means I'm constantly seeking out new research and training opportunities to keep me on my toes and enable me to give my best to each and every person I work with.

Nervous system regulation has been transformative for me and this is something I bring to client sessions as it can be extremely empowering in healing from trauma and stress responses.
If you'd like to find out more about the way I work or to book an initial session to see if you think we'd be a good 'fit', please get in touch.
